Rocky Twyman leads prayer

This month's candidate for most simplistic answer to an international problem comes from Rocky Twyman of Washington, D.C. Twyman has responded to the world oil crisis by leading prayer meetings at filling stations, for cheaper petrol.

'Prayer is the answer to every problem in life,' explained Twyman. 'We call on God to intervene in the lives of the selfish, greedy people who are keeping these prices high.

'These prices will come down, just like the walls of Jericho came down in the Bible. Someone's making a lot of money and it's really, really wrong. '

Twyman, a choir director, has taken his gas rights movement on tour across the states from Ohio to San Francisco. They even have an anthem - 'We'll have lower gas prices', sung to the tune of 'We Shall Overcome'. Gets you right there, doesn't it?

Leading prayers at the Shell station in Washington, Twyman protested, 'Last week, this station was $3.51. Now it's practically $3.60'. That is the equivalent of 52p per litre.
Twyman says that those who pray should also also walk more and use car pools.

Since his prayer campaign started, crude oils have reached a record high -"'and then fallen by no less than fifteen per cent over the space of two weeks. They then leapt by almost four per cent in a day. We'll leave the prophetic interpretation of those figures up to you.
